Chloe Bowden Textual investigation 1 Investigate how far Men In Black ii conforms to genre conveNtions. Men In Black 2 was released in 2002. It is an action and sci FI film. They use a Small TV to tell the story, also they use animation showing all the credits, They do this to show people can see who’s in the film They use Props to tell people about headsets, light flash machine, tube underground, bright lights, guns and laser lights. They use these because it makes the movie look more effective and interesting. They use different Costumes to make them look different, the man is wearing black suit, a tie and glasses, jeans and a stripy top; the girl is wearing a black top and black jeans to make her look goffick. They do this because they want the people in the film to look nice and trendy and to grab people’s attention. They also do this to show that they are spies. They use close up on the aliens then zooms out, close up on the mans face, close up on the worms, close up of the agents, zoom in on one of the agents and the lady. They do this because they want to show different ways on how you can show different levels and camera work. As in most sci fi films, They Use of special effects, a green screen shows the worm scaring the man. Planets were drawn on a computer, the women has worms coming out of her fingers and gets information out of the man, uses of computer to show the snakes that come out of her fingers and also for all the other monsters/ creatures. They do this because they want to catch peoples attention and to make it more effective. They use sounds because it gives the film more interesting effects. Loud noises like lightning, alien noises, dog barks, dramatic music, use of different languages, alarms going off which are loud, dramatic music when will (the agent) is fighting.

 This is a close up of selena and her work mate at the desk asking something. The conventions of sci are the noises and the costumes of the actors. The aliens and bleeps make the film more interesting because they get to see and hear what they are like.
